Procrastination Prevention (Leading Self)

On Thursday, September 5th, 2024, I attended a Student Leadership Institute session about truly understanding procrastination and learning how to move forward. At this SLI, we observed habits concerning our procrastination and learned about skills to combat procrastination. We used Power Rangers to imagine how skills of clarity, agency, habits, mindset, and mission work together against procrastination.

Knowledge to Action Retreat

On Saturday, November 9th, 2024, I attended the Knowledge to Action Retreat (KTAR) in Auburn, New York. Here, we visited the New York State Equal Rights Heritage Center, where we toured many signs promoting equal rights. Additionally, we followed the lantern trail that followed Harriet Tubman's very own lantern trail during the Underground Railroad Era, even visiting her homestead and her final resting place. The NYS Equal Rights Heritage Center was very impactful for me, especially after the election, leaving me with the impression that the fight for freedom and rights has always been a work in progress, and we may have to spend some more time fighting than we thought. Additionally, Harriet Tubman's gravesite was very emotional for me. Not only was she a hero, but many people decorated her grave as so. There were so many flowers, and even rocks, littered with "I VOTED" stickers from the 2024 election. It was very impactful.
